Thanks to its location at the gateway to Chalon-sur-Saône, you can reach the city centre with its cathedral and half-timbered houses in just 15 minutes. And if you want to try Burgundian cuisine, there are several restaurants within a 5 minute radius of the campsite. You don’t need to move your car to enjoy a good restaurant.

Many people cycle through the region. The Pont de Bourgogne campsite is an ideal stopover for those who do. The campsite is accessible from the cycle paths and has special accommodation for cyclists, such as a bivouac tent on stilts for two people or two 6-person tents for groups. In the chalet on stilts overlooking the Saône, you can also rent a room with or without bathroom. If you wish to park your bicycle, please ask at the reception if it can be parked in the campsite garage.

Apart from its location in the countryside and on the banks of the Saône, the main advantage of the Pont de Bourgogne is its proximity to the city centre of Chalon-sur-Saône. Chalon-sur-Saône’s cathedral square, with its cafés, restaurants and half-timbered houses, is about 15 minutes’ walk away. You do not need to move your car to get to the restaurant. There is a wide range of restaurants in the centre of Chalon-sur-Saône. You can enjoy delicious Burgundian specialities. While in Chalon-sur-Saône, be sure to visit the Nicéphore Niepce museum, dedicated to the inventor of photography, who was born in Chalon-sur-Saône. Large temporary exhibitions are organised in this museum, which is open to the public free of charge. For swimming enthusiasts, the municipal swimming pool of Chalon-sur-Saône is located on the other side of the Saône. To get there, just cross the bridge on foot.

Mercurey, Rully, Givry and Montagny are all wine-producing towns near Chalon-sur-Saône. History lovers should visit the Hospices de Beaune, Tournus and its Romanesque church or Cluny and the Château de Cormatin.
