Camping along the Loire à Vélo

The perfect stoppover on the Loire by bike

On the banks of the Loire, the Isle Verte campsite awaits you in Montsoreau, between Tours and Saumur. The campsite is bordered by the Loire à Vélo cycle path. It therefore offers cyclists accommodation specially designed for them, such as the bivouac tents, set on stilts and offering beautiful views over the Loire. For cyclists camping at Isle Verte, there is a special area for them with free access to refrigerators and gas cookers. From the campsite, it is easy to reach Saumur along the Loire or to go to the Fontevraud Abbey, only a few kilometres from the campsite.

Campsite along the Voie Bleue in Burgundy

A campsite at the crossroads of the South Burgundy cycle routes

Southern Burgundy is a great region for cycling. Chalon-sur-Saône in particular. This pretty town and the Pont de Bourgogne campsite are at the crossroads of several cycle routes, including the Voie Verte, which winds its way through the vineyards from Givry to Cluny over a distance of about fifty kilometres, and the Voie Bleue, which links Luxembourg to Lyon. Two flat cycle paths accessible to all levels. In its Burgundy section, the Voie Bleue takes you along the banks of the Saône between Chalon-sur-Saône and Mâcon with a stopover in Tournus to visit its superb Romanesque abbey church. The Pont de Bourgogne is located at the crossroads of these cycle routes. With its accommodation designed for cyclists, it is the perfect stopover for those travelling on two wheels across France. It is also the starting point for easy rides through the green landscapes of Southern Burgundy.
