When you’ve got a van or motorhome, it’s not always pleasant to have to pack everything away before setting off on a trip. La Grappe Fleurie campsite in the Beaujolais region offers a solution: a shuttle service that can take you to winegrowers, to the nearest train station for a day trip to Lyon, or to Touroparc. The parents of Chloé, 4, and Maëlle, 2, tested the service for us on an outing to Tourorparc. And their verdict is clear: they loved it!
Highlights of La Grappe Fleurie campsite:
- camping in the vineyards
- a campsite with indoor swimming pool and children’s pool

Chloé and Maëlle’s parents had come on vacation with a van, and didn’t want to have to move it to take their daughters to Touroparc. Touroparc, if you don’t know it, is both a zoo and an amusement park, with rides for children and a water park with slides. In terms of animals, the zoo boasts giraffes, elephants, makis and hippos. Chloé and Maëlle’s parents decided to take advantage of the Grappe Fleurie shuttle service to visit Touroparc in Romanèche-Thorins. The appointment was made the day before, and by 10 a.m. the shuttle was waiting for them in front of the campsite reception, heading for Touroparc.
To the delight of the day’s two heroines, their parents had opted for the Premium tour, during which they accompany a caretaker up close to the park’s animals. First stop of the day: the giant tortoises. Chloé and Maëlle discovered that turtles are very fond of melon. After feeding the hippopotamus and chimpanzees, the two girls had the chance to stroke a giraffe and its giraffe. A memory they still recounted before falling asleep in the bedroom of their mobile home.
This Prestige tour lasts around 1h30, but you’ll need to allow much more time at Touroparc. Once the tour is over, there’s still the park to discover. After a meal, Chloé and Maëlle were able to discover other animals such as lions and elephants, and try out several of the park’s rides. When the shuttle bus picked them up at 6pm, they were soon asleep in the vehicle, dreaming of the best day of their camping vacation in the Beaujolais region.
