At C’est si Bon, we love good food. And just as well, our campsites like to share the specialities of their region. In the Loire Valley, for example, Clément from camping l’Isle Verte in Montsoreau invites you to discover the wines of Anjou and Saumur.
For wine lovers, the Isle Verte campsite offers many attractions:
- L’Isle Verte campsite is located in the village of Montsoreau, with a wine cellar just opposite the campsite.
- Just 10 minutes from Saumur, the campsite is a great base for visiting the Ackerman or Grenelle cellars, the representatives of Loire Valley crémant.
- The campsite has set up a wine passport to help you visit wineries and taste Anjou wines.
- The campsite has created an app for visiting the region and discovering its vineyards.
- The campsite regularly organizes wine tastings.
- The campsite has a wine bar where you can sample a selection of wines made by Clément, the campsite owner and a connoisseur of local wines.
L’Isle Verte campsite nestles on the banks of the Loire, in the superb village of Montsoreau, famous for its château and troglodyte dwellings. Two wine cellars await you in the village, where you can sample Anjou and Saumur wines. Domaine de la Perruche, opposite the campsite, and the tasting cellar of Domaines de Nerleux and Arnaud Lambert. During our visit to the Isle Verte campsite, Clément accompanied us to these two cellars. The tasting was as delicious as it was fascinating.
For our second day at the campsite, we set off to discover the Saumur-Champigny vineyards on our own, with the wine passport and Isle Verte app in our pocket. The passport brings together 14 winegrowers in the Saumur region. The app offers geolocation options, which come in very handy if you don’t want to get lost in the vineyards, while the paper passport lets you take notes during tastings. You keep a written record of your impressions of the tastings you’ve made, and before you leave the campsite, you can order the wines you liked best from the campsite reception.
The app not only shows you the wineries, but also trails for walking and cycling through the vineyards. The campsite is located between the Loire and the vineyards.
Of course, there’s nothing like tasting directly on the estate with the winemakers, but you can also sample Clément’s selection of wines at the campsite wine bar.
